Remember that quilt I cut fabric for exactly a year ago, the one that caused me to rethink my ability to sew here and then caused me to say "looks like pie" on my blog here? I'm finishing it. There. It's written and so it has to be done, right? Actually much progress is being made on this, my own personal quilty nightmare. If you've missed the saga with this quilt, it started with squares a bit too big for my plan. That means this week I've trimmed all of the blocks back... after steaming the seams open (which has been invaluable and made things really precise). Now I'm piecing, still steaming seams and enjoying how this is coming together... finally.
In other news, my thesis is done and I'm just beyond delighted. I've ordered some of Pat Bravo's "Indie" for a lap quilt for the bedroom (going to keep it simple with squares this time). That will be the last of the works in progress for a little while. I have this to finish. It feels good to be in the wrapping things up mode... whether it be thesis or sewing. And when that isn't happening... I'm relishing my (dwindling!) days off with this funny lady...
Goodness it's funny when her lip gets stuck like that. Hope you are enjoying this Tuesday and finding things to make you laugh.
