Denyse Schmidt's Katie Jump Rope, Orange Daisies
I have a confession... I love that fabric. We're not going to play guess the yardage on that one as though Rob is away, he is checking in on this here blog, but I just love this fabric. I have started cutting templates for my Single Girl quilt... perfect timing as I'm a bit of a Single Girl these days so to speak... I single handedly wrecked my toe by the way... Anyway, the original thought was that I'd use this for the backing of that quilt that is destined for the spare bedroom. The more I look at this fabric, the more I think it says curtains... loft curtains? Backed this time? Very possible. I do love that fabric.
I thought I might show some stash use in this post... I have been sewing up a storm this weekend. My winter quilt will probably become a spring quilt but I'm really just loving the process of piecing this one. Rob and I also made the panels for my linen cabinet last weekend... I think they're really lovely and am pleased with the results...
I'm off to spend some time in the loft, the machine calls and I'm looking forward to seeing how this quilt comes together. The pattern calls for grabbing patchwork squares randomly from a bag, which is a little difficult for me... I'm more of a control where each piece goes kind of girl when sewing... ah well, better to let it be and embrace the randomness. Hmm... bit of a life lesson there, I think. Sometimes easier said than done... Happy weekend to you and yours.
